Safety information

Health hazards : it Causes eye irritation and can cause severe eye burns. Its permissible vapor threshold is 200PPM and when confronted with it, you should use goggles and gas-proof courier. In case of contact with the body, the contact area should be washed with water.

How to extinguish: Acetaldehyde is soluble in water in any proportion and therefore can be diluted with running water to prevent ignition. To extinguish the fire, you can use water as a spray, carbon dioxide extinguisher, powder or alcohol foam. Eye protection systems and respiratory protection devices should be used during the operation.

How to store and transport:

In one-liter glass bottles resistant to pressure and metal barrels of 5 to 55 gallons, special machines with tanks are stored and transported. These tanks should be kept away from physical damage and in a cool place.
Large quantities should be stored in containers that are open and separate from other materials. These tanks must be cooled and the empty space inside must be filled with a neutral gas such as nitrogen. Small containers should be kept separate from other materials inside fire-resistant buildings equipped with cooling systems and away from sources of ignition and alkalis, alcohols, columns, phenols, anhydrides, acids and oxidants.
Containers and storage areas of acetaldehyde should prevent light from reaching the material.Acetaldehyde storage should be constructed in accordance with the requirements of flammable liquid storage facilities.
